Find the Right Character
Wonder and Wander are Wonderland's main mascots, but the character directory also includes clowns, dolls, miscellaneous characters, and NPCs. Knowing which group a name belongs to helps you find its entry and distinguish characters with similar names. This is especially useful for Worm and Wormy, or Lumin Rodent and Lumins.
The Wonderland Wiki's character list contains 22 named entries across five groups. That figure counts directory entries rather than necessarily counting individual beings: Lumins, for example, appears as one entry with a plural name. The roster provides a practical starting point for identifying the game's cast.
Use these groups to narrow your search:
- Main Mascots: Wonder and Wander.
- Clowns: Jester, Clown, Tiltjack, and Lumin Rodent.
- Dolls: Alice, Smiley, Ballerina, and Bear.
- Miscellaneous: Bunny, Gnome, Mole, Worm, Balloon, Coaster Angel, Owl, and Bomb.
- NPCs: Zippy, Lumins, Wormy, and Merchant.
These headings organize the directory, but they do not explain every character's behavior. A name's placement can tell you where to look without establishing its abilities, encounter conditions, or relationship to the player. Use the roster for identification, then consult the individual character entry when you need details about a particular encounter.
Main Mascots: Wonder and Wander
Wonder and Wander share the Main Mascots heading. They are the only two entries in that group, making them straightforward to locate when browsing the cast.
| Character | Directory role |
|---|---|
| Wonder | Main mascot |
| Wander | Main mascot |
The names are easy to mix up because they have the same length and differ by a single vowel. Wonder contains an “o” after the initial “W,” while Wander contains an “a.” Checking that letter is a useful first step when searching for one character or matching a name mentioned in a discussion.
Both also have individual entries in the character category. They should therefore be treated as separate characters when navigating the wiki; neither name is presented as an alternative spelling of the other.
Their shared mascot classification does not assign them identical personalities or gameplay functions. It identifies their place in the roster. For a general overview, keep both names together; for a specific question about either character, use the exact individual name so that details about one are not accidentally attributed to the other.
Clowns and Dolls
Clowns and Dolls each contain four entries. These are separate directory groups, so checking the listed classification is more dependable than guessing from a character's name.
| Group | Characters | Number of entries |
|---|---|---|
| Clowns | Jester, Clown, Tiltjack, Lumin Rodent | 4 |
| Dolls | Alice, Smiley, Ballerina, Bear | 4 |
Within the Clowns group, Clown is also an individual character's name. This creates a small but useful distinction: “Clowns” refers to the four-entry group, while “Clown” refers to one member. If a discussion mentions a clown without giving a name, the group alone may not identify which character is meant.
Lumin Rodent belongs to Clowns, despite sharing part of its name with Lumins, which appears under NPCs. Keep the full two-word name when searching. Shortening it to “Lumin” removes the clearest distinction between these two directory entries.
For Dolls, the four names to remember are Alice, Smiley, Ballerina, and Bear. Bear is specifically placed in this group, so looking only among miscellaneous entries would miss it. Alice likewise appears as a Doll in Wonderland's roster.
These classifications are useful for organizing character pages, but they are not a ranking system. The group labels do not specify difficulty, encounter order, or which character matters most to a particular objective. When comparing members, separate their confirmed directory placement from any additional claims about their actions or mechanics.
Miscellaneous Characters
Miscellaneous is the largest group in the character list, with eight entries. It brings together names that are not placed under Main Mascots, Clowns, Dolls, or NPCs in that directory.
| Miscellaneous character |
|---|
| Bunny |
| Gnome |
| Mole |
| Worm |
| Balloon |
| Coaster Angel |
| Owl |
| Bomb |
The heading is an organizational category, not a description of how these characters behave. It should not be read as meaning that every member is optional, unimportant, friendly, or encountered in the same place. Those conclusions would require information from the relevant character pages.
Worm deserves particular attention because the roster also contains Wormy. Worm appears here under Miscellaneous; Wormy appears under NPCs. Preserve that final “y” when identifying either entry, since the directory lists them separately.
There is also a navigation difference between the wiki's two indexes. Worm appears in the main character list but is absent from the displayed character-category listing. If you cannot find it by browsing that category, check the main list before assuming the name is incorrect.
Coaster Angel is another entry worth searching by its full name. Likewise, Balloon and Bomb are included as character entries even though their names can describe objects. The wiki's character category explicitly allows object and item characters, so a character listing is not restricted to a conventional person or creature.
NPCs: Zippy, Lumins, Wormy, and Merchant
The NPC group contains four entries. NPC stands for non-player character, but that label alone does not specify the interaction available with each member.
| Entry | Directory classification |
|---|---|
| Zippy | NPC |
| Lumins | NPC |
| Wormy | NPC |
| Merchant | NPC |
Zippy and Lumins are separate entries with a connection in the game's dialogue. In a Wonderland dialogue video, Zippy introduces himself and expresses his love for Lumins. That helps explain why the names may appear together, while their separate listings keep them distinct in the directory.
Keep Lumins separate from Lumin Rodent when browsing. Lumins is the NPC entry; Lumin Rodent is listed among Clowns. Their similar wording does not make the names interchangeable.
Wormy presents a comparable naming issue. It is the NPC entry, whereas Worm belongs to Miscellaneous. Searching the complete spelling is the simplest way to avoid switching between them unintentionally.
Merchant is also listed as an NPC. The roster itself does not describe an inventory, prices, trading requirements, or available services. For a question about a transaction or item, the name identifies the relevant character page, but the NPC classification is not enough to establish the answer.
As a browsing habit, start with the exact name, confirm the group, and then look for the specific interaction you need. This keeps character identification separate from assumptions about what an NPC offers.
FAQ
How many wonderland characters are listed?
The main character directory contains 22 entries: two main mascots, four clowns, four dolls, eight miscellaneous entries, and four NPC entries. This is a count of names in that directory. It should not automatically be treated as a count of individual beings, since an entry such as Lumins uses a plural name.
Who are the main mascots?
Wonder and Wander are the two characters listed under Main Mascots. They have separate entries, and their names differ by the vowel immediately after the initial “W.” When looking up one of them, check the spelling before opening a page or applying information from a discussion.
Are Worm and Wormy the same entry?
No. The directory lists Worm under Miscellaneous and Wormy under NPCs. Their similar names can make searches confusing, but their separate placement provides a clear way to distinguish them. Worm also appears in the main list even though it is missing from the displayed character-category listing.
Is Lumin Rodent listed with Lumins?
No. Lumin Rodent is grouped with Jester, Clown, and Tiltjack under Clowns. Lumins appears with Zippy, Wormy, and Merchant under NPCs. Use each complete name when searching; the shared wording alone does not establish that their roles or behavior are the same.
Why does the character category show 32 items?
The Characters category includes more than individual character pages. Its 32 displayed items also include subcategories, a character-list template, and the List of Characters page. That category total therefore measures indexed items rather than the number of characters in the roster.
Does being listed as a character mean an entry is playable?
No. The character category has a broad scope that includes living entities, objects, and items. The main roster also explicitly includes NPCs. Inclusion establishes that an entry belongs in the character directory; it does not, by itself, establish player control, unlockability, combat abilities, or a particular encounter role.
